Hungary's important late Romantic composer Ernst (or Ernö) von Dohnányi was not only the progenitor of a musical dynasty and a legendary pianist, but also an imaginative composer. Sometimes in his works the interesting is lying in the brevity, as it is in the entertaining "Symphonic Minutes." Before that, the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of its permanent conductor, the internationally successful Róbert Farkas, performs the rousing "Dances from Galanta" by Zoltán Kodály, full of Magyar fire. Folk tunes from Austria-Hungary can also be found in the music of Gustav Mahler. His "Fourth" concludes the triad of "Wunderhorn symphonies". According to Mahler, it is "a symphonic humoresque, and that's where the normal measure of a symphony came from." Even the "normal measure" results in an hour of sonorous narratives about life, about God and the world for him. In the composer's melody-rich, most chamber symphony, the childlike tone of the song "We enjoy the heavenly joys" became the program in the finale. It is the vision of paradise, in contrast to the real world with its bitter sides. It is proclaimed by the young Hungarian soprano Réka Kristóf.
