The Big B's: Beethoven, Bach, Brahms

Improvisation, once a trademark of the great masters, has almost fallen into oblivion today. In the past it was regarded as a skill that every great musician had to master, but today it is often - presumably due to a lack of courage - a deadlocked fidelity to the score. In their program "The Big B´s", the Janoska Ensemble presents three composers who have mastered the art of improvising. The ensemble interprets classics by Bach, Brahms and Beethoven as well as pop masterpieces by the Beatles in their unmistakable "Janoska Style". This style is based on a 250-year-old musical tradition deeply rooted in the house of the three Janoska brothers, Ondrej, František and Roman and their brother-in-law Julius Darvas. Their decades of playing practice and infinite joy of playing in the highest technical perfection are of particular benefit to the art of improvising. Double bass player Julius Darvas will also lead the programme as Conférencier.

Ondrej Janoska, Violin
Roman Janoska, Violin
František Janoska, Piano
Julius Darvas, Double Bass
