The Royal Philharmonic of Galicia, one of Spain's great orchestras, will perform with the internationally successful conductor Pablo González and the prominent Basque guitarist Enrike Solinís, who comes from Jordi Savall's Baroque ensemble. He takes us to the Royal Gardens of Aranjuez with the most popular of all guitar concerts, based on notes by Joaquín Rodrigo. Two pieces from the Iberia Suite of Isaac Albéniz and the sounding, passionate love spell of the great Manuel de Falla provide the sensual rhythms of Spain. Less well known is a composer known as "Spanish Mozart", although he was much more of a "Spanish Schubert". Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga from Bilbao was granted only 20 years of life. He died of tuberculosis in Paris in 1826. His only symphony is the stroke of genius of an early 18-year-old.
