Michael Köhlmeier narrates

The classic sagas of antiquity fascinate and inspire to this day. Who does not know them - the stories of the Oedipus complex, the Achilles heel or the Trojan horse?
The dramatic themes of love and war, devotion and death, rapture and frenzy touched and fired numerous artists, writers and composers of cultural history in their creative power. Ludwig van Beethoven, for example, was inspired by the stirring story of the man-making Titan when composing the music for Salvatore Viganò's ballet "The Creatures of Prometheus".
The Salzburger Kulturvereinigung is pleased to have been able to win Michael Köhlmeier, a guarantor of the art of storytelling. His newly interpreted "Legends of Classical Antiquity" have long been considered entry-level works for mythology novices and those interested in the subject. On this evening, the Austrian author will devote himself in a relaxed tone to the modern reworking of ancient sagas, which in a lively and entertaining way retell the origins of Western intellectual history with its developmental steps and turning points.
