The Orchestra of the Salzburger Kulturvereinigung is Salzburg's most traditional amateur orchestra. Here, qualified amateur musicians make music together with professional musicians with great dedication and passion. It was founded in 1962 by Gustav Gruber (followed by the artistic directors: Johannes Hawranek, Rolf Ostheim, Franz Richter-Herf, Walter Raninger, Wolfgang Danzmayr, Stephan Aichinger & Günther Passin). In spring 2014 Helmut Zeilner took over the artistic direction of the orchestra.
Countless young Salzburg musicians who today make music on the world's great stages celebrated their first great solo successes with the Orchestra of the Salzburg Cultural Association.
