Yutaka Sado, conductor
Fazıl Say, piano
For the 75th anniversary of the Salzburg Cultural Association, the top-class Deutsches Sinfonie Orchester Berlin will give a guest performance under the baton of Japanese maestro Yutaka Sado, who thrilled the audience at the Großes Festspielhaus in October 2021 with his brilliant interpretation of Shostakovich. Now Yutaka Sado devotes himself to the ever stirring and moving "Pathétique", the 6th symphony by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky describing a life between tragedy and successes. At the beginning of the festive concert is the irresistibly swinging, existence-affirming Candide Overture by Leonard Bernstein. And in the middle, one of the fine chamber piano concertos of the genius loci W. A. Mozart is heard, the one in A major KV 414, with which Mozart once conquered the Viennese audience. An exceptional virtuoso, the charismatic keyboard wizard Fazıl Say, will be at the piano.
