Ostracized music forms the common thread of this extraordinary concert and thematically links the works and their composers. This is music that was banned by the National Socialists because it did not conform to their ideal of beauty or came from Jewish or dissident composers, such as communists. The Würth Philharmoniker is guest at the Music Festival Kulturtage and, under the direction of its chief conductor Claudio Vandelli, will perform a concert program that is multifaceted and heterogeneous, but by no means degenerate. Maximilian Hornung, one of the leading cellists of his generation, is featured as soloist in Mieczysław Weinberg's Concerto for Cello and String Orchestra, in which the spark of hope of these dark times cannot be ignored.
