Viennese audience favorite and film star Karl Markovics makes a guest appearance with stories about eating, drinking and being bad. The evening with music by the OÖ Concert-Schrammeln deals with the smaller and larger calamities surrounding the basic needs of physical and mental existence. In the process, we encounter several greats of Austrian literature: Karl Kraus, Anton Kuh, Alfred Polgar, Friedrich Torberg, Ernst Jandl, Felix Salten and Peter Altenberg. "But despite all the stories of how life can finish us off even before it's actually over, there is hope," says Karl Markovics. "Because where the fun stops is only one end of the divine comedy: the hell of everyday life. The other is the heaven of the uninvolved. And that is populated by you, esteemed audience! After all, what are you paying admission for? For the fact that you can lean back for two hours, look over the shoulder of fate and are not, as usual, helpless, helpless and completely witless at its mercy. So enjoy the evening while it lasts. Because soon the rough and tumble of everyday life will be blowing in your face again. Perhaps it will be a small comfort to you if I tell you that I feel the same way."
