CHRISTIAN IHLE HADLAND - Piano

The Brussels Philharmonic and its Swiss “Conductor Emeritus” Michel Tabachnik, always welcome guests in Salzburg, will first pay tribute to the “Composer of the Year 2027,” Ludwig van Beethoven, together with the Norwegian star pianist Christian Ihle Hadland. A truly European lineup for a European evening. Beethoven’s impressive Piano Concerto No. 3 takes center stage in the program following the ever-popular Coriolan Overture. After the intermission, we journey to France and, with Claude Debussy, into the irresistible magical sounds of “La Mer,” before Maurice Ravel (half Swiss, half Basque, and a naturalized Frenchman) whirls us into the depths of the waltz in “La Valse,” originally intended as a tribute to Johann Strauss Jr., culminating in a dance on the volcano.
