New Year's Concert 2027

You can experience the first sounds of the Beethoven Year 2027 at our New Year’s concerts in the Großes Festspielhaus, which focus on his early works. The young Salzburg-born violinist Chiara Sannicandro will shine alongside the Beethoven Philharmonie, conducted by Thomas Rösner, in a performance of Beethoven’s much-loved early works, the two ‘Violin Romances’. With the Violin Romances, Beethoven created a new form of composition entirely geared towards the sound of the violin. In a simple, clear form, melodies of exceptional beauty unfold, unpretentious and imbued with a touching lyrical power. After the interval, the programme continues with delightful waltzes and polkas, offering a hopeful outlook on the new year.
