Reinventing the museum

What is expected of effective museum work today? How can treasures and curiosities from collections be presented effectively? What do audience-friendly educational formats look like?

Two research and cultural institutions in Salzburg, which are dedicated to preserving, cataloging, and promoting the literary heritage of two world-famous authors from the city’s history, are currently working on revamping their exhibition and educational programs. The Stefan Zweig Haus|Stefan Zweig Zentrum from the University of Salzburg and the Georg Trakl Research and Memorial Center of the Salzburger Kulturvereinigung invite you to contribute your expectations, knowledge, and ideas to this process.

Historian, curator, and museum director Sylvia Necker will discuss her innovative work at the LWL Prussian Museum in Minden and offer contemporary perspectives on the engaging design of museum exhibitions and educational programs. Following this, there will be an opportunity to engage in a discussion about how to approach Trakl and Zweig in the context of Salzburg’s cultural history.
