On their traditional winter tour through Austria, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra will once again be stopping in Salzburg and will have the sheet music for Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's stirring Fifth Symphony, one of the highlights of the great Romantic period of the 19th century, on their desks. The young, highly successful Austrian maestro Patrick Hahn will also conduct Mikhail Ivanovich Glinka's furious overture to his Russian fairytale opera "Ruslan and Ludmilla". In between, the cello concerto written especially for the fabulous cellist Kian Soltani by Marcus Nigsch, who lives in Feldkirch, will be performed. The FAZ writes about the composer: "As a pop star, he stormed the hit parade in his younger years. In the meantime, he has changed track and composes contemporary classical music with an immediacy and virtuosity that inspires".
